There are several cold sore remedies you have probably not heard of them, but they are effective and work fast.
- Eat Licorice
Cold sores come from viral infections and licorice root is excellent at fighting them.
Garlic is famous for its amazing healing properties, including its effectiveness for curing cold sores. Consuming it raw is beneficial, but also you can apply it on the sore so your body absorbs it even faster.
- Soak up Peroxide
Peroxide is not only great for treating cuts, but it is good for drying out cold sores as well.
- Apply Milk on the Sore
Take a cotton ball and soak it in milk that is already in your freezer. Then, apply it directly to the sore. Do this method throughout the day and try not to wipe it off.
- Apply Some Ice
Cool down your cold sore by applying ice. It will reduce swelling and eliminate redness.
- Sweet Vanilla
Can you imagine that vanilla’s mild alcohol content can dry the cold sore without irritating it?
- Peppermint Oil
Peppermint has antiviral properties and is soothing to the skin. Also, if you don’t like the smell of garlic, this is a better option you can use.
- Tea Tree Oil
This oil is an old remedy for acne, but it can help you with cold sores too. Apply some on the affected area and don’t wipe it away, although it may sting a bit.
